Scrollable tables pin their first column, but the rows are transparent by design and the pinned cell carried no paint of its own, so columns sliding under it stayed visible through it and the two texts overlapped. The pinned cell now paints the solid panel color, with the row hover wash mixed in on hover like the rest of the row.
